What to do if Registration page repeats?

OOo needs to write to a file and update a field. If permissions on this directory do not permit updating this field then the request will recur. So you will have to check that you have permission to write in the target directory.
Regardless of which OS you use, target file is likely $HOME/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Common.xcu where $HOME is where your OS keeps files for your personal use. The above notation is for *NIX so adapt it as necessary for your OS.

  1. Open the file in your text editor; for example vi or wordpad
  2. Locate the following code in the file:
    <node oor:name="Misc">
      <prop oor:name="FirstRun" oor:type="xs:boolean">
        <value>true  </prop>
    </node>
    3. change "true" to "false".
  3. If this fails then fix your permissions and/or troubleshoot to find the source of the problem.<\li>
